Love is Love

SEXUALITY IN THE MODERN WORLD

The closet door is opening up, the gloves are coming off, and the world is finally warming up to the idea of gay marriage. The LGBT community is no longer underground, but a neighbor of the Average Joe. As an integral part of human society, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex individuals have the right to free speech, free press, free love, and yes, overpriced wedding cakes. We at AllRiot strongly support the freedom to choose a partner, and we want this campaign to be one of the most exemplary forms of revolution in modern society.

Our campaign advocates that more governments worldwide legalize same-sex marriage and uphold constitutional rights. Most importantly, as members of a democratic society, and taxpayers as well, everyone should be entitled to all of the legislative benefits as others. With these gains, we want the momentum to continue. We understand that it will take time, but dammit, we can try. Love is all around, and your choice of who to share it with is more important than the orifice you choose to use.

1. THE GENDER AGENDA

LGBT rights share a place in history amongst many other enduring battles. As sexual roles evolve over time–amongst all orientations–more and more, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex individuals face the challenge of achieving societal inclusion. LGBT proponents have remained vigilant while fighting against several prominent fronts, and the debate that has erupted across the modern world is a direct result of the LGBT community working in tandem with international rights groups to advance and protect their civil liberties.

LGBT ACTIVISM: PROGRESS SO FAR

There are political, cultural, and health-related objectives for same-sex proponents related to partnership/ marriage, STI prevention, assisted reproduction, domestic/ relationship violence, and social justice; campaigners have experienced progress and setbacks simultaneously, yet continue to persevere against these challenges. Members of GLAD, the ACLU, HRW, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and Amnesty International, along with countless others work side-by-side with individuals and groups to place pressure on suppressive governments that refuse to recognise the evolving definitions of sexuality.
Thanks to LGBTQI campaigners around the World, an increasing number of countries recognise same-sex marriage / civil partnerships.
