WHAT IS ANARCHY?
Anarchy is a social system that is freely constituted without authorities or a governing body. It may also refer to a society or group of people that entirely rejects a set hierarchy.
“No Gods, No Masters” is perhaps the most well known anarchist motto. The slogan originated from a pamphlet that was given out by the Industrial Workers of the World in the Lawrence Textile Strike in 1912. The phrase is coined from the French slogan – Ni Dieu ni maître- that means neither God nor Master. The slogan appears two times in Beyond Good and Evil, work by Friedrich Nietzsche in 1886. It first emerges in a review of the belief that nature orders principles of equality before the law. In another section, it materializes again where Friedrich relates it with the anarchists and as an indication of their herd attitude, which he criticises.
